2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google. This data is stored securely in Supabase (our database provider).
2.2 Payment Information
If you upgrade to Pro, your payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe handles all payment data in compliance with PCI DSS standards. We only store your Stripe customer ID and subscription status in our database.
2.3 Files You Upload
Images for OCR:Sent to Google Cloud Vision API for text extraction. Images are processed immediately and never stored on our servers or Google's servers beyond the duration of the API call.
Images for Background Removal:Sent to Replicate's API for AI processing. Images are processed and returned immediately. Replicate may retain images temporarily per their own privacy policy.
PDF files: Processed entirely in your browser or on our servers temporarily. PDF files are never stored permanently and are deleted immediately after processing.
2.4 Usage Data
We collect anonymous usage data including page views, tool usage counts, and session information via Google Analytics. This data is anonymized and used to improve our service.
2.5 Cookies
We use cookies for authentication (to keep you logged in) and analytics. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve relevant advertisements to free users. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

💳 Payments
All payments are handled by Stripe, a globally trusted payment processor used by millions of businesses. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe is PCI DSS compliant.
🔍 Image to Text (OCR)
When you extract text from an image, your image is sent to Google Cloud Vision API for processing. The image is processed instantly and never stored by us or Google.
✂️ Background Removal
Background removal is powered by an AI service. Your image is sent for processing and returned to you immediately. Images are not stored after processing.
📧 Emails
We send transactional emails (like account confirmation or support replies) through a secure email delivery service. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
📊 Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our tools. All data is anonymized — we cannot identify you personally from analytics data.
📢 Advertising (Free Users Only)
Google AdSense shows ads to free users to help us keep the service free. Pro subscribers never see ads. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing. You can opt out via Google Ads Settings.
☁️ Hosting
ToolSnap is hosted on Vercel, a secure cloud platform. Standard server logs (like IP addresses) may be retained for security purposes.
5. Data Retention
- Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion.
- Uploaded files: Never stored permanently. Deleted immediately after processing.
- Usage logs: Retained for 90 days for abuse prevention.
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by law.
- Analytics data: Anonymized and retained per Google Analytics policy (26 months).
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
